"Assumption of the Virgin" Church is the principal edifice of the Capriana Monastery. The church was constructed in the XVIth century during the reign of the Ruler Petru Rares and subsequently reconstructed in the first quarter of the XIXth century by the Bishop Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni. This is a typical Moldovan church built of processed stone, the walls having been plastered outside. The latest restoration is dating from 1993. It represents an international value.
