The church was constructed in 1752 and is located on the territory of the Old City, on a hill not far from the river Bac. This is the oldest stone-built construction, preserved in the capital of Moldova. The church has been continuously open hitherto. Nowadays, this church belongs to the old Russian Christian Orthodox community.
