"Hancul" Monastery is situated in Judets of Ungheni. It is assumed that the High Steward Mihail Hancu founded the cell in 1678 upon request of his daughter, whose name was given to this. The daughter entered a nunnery under the name of Parascheva. With that end in view she made a present the Secareni estate with the total area of 1040 ha to the cell. In 1836, during the ruling of Superior Abbat Dosoftei, the cell was transformed into the monastery. The monastery includes two stone churches - "The Pious Parascheva Church", which was erected in 1835 and "The Assumption of the Virgin Church", founded in 1844.
