One of the legends says that "Harjauca" Monastery was founded in 1740 by a monk known by name of Harjan, a wanderer, who came to the forest in order to take a rest. Seeing the Blessed Virgin in his dream, he decided to erect a place for praying and alms, where many of the Christians used to gather, leaving their secular concerns, having been firmly determined to consacrate themselves to faith. This monastery together with two churches "Saint Spiridon" and "God`s Ascension" represents a national value.
